Who is the Glacier
Skills Clinic for? 
This clinic is perfect for those who want to learn the skills necessary
to travel safely in glaciated terrain. Previous personal climbing experience
or completion of our Basic Mountaineering Lesson is required.
What will I learn
on the Glacier Skills Clinic?
This course teaches the skills for travelling safely on glaciated terrain:
how to tie into the rope, how to climb roped together, simple belays,
how to self arrest, snow anchors, rope ascending and basic crevasse
rescue techniques.
When is the Glacier
Skills Clinic held?
This course runs every day from late fall through early spring. You
can schedule it any day you want by calling our toll free reservation

How big are the
classes for the Glacier Skills Clinic?
Our standard group instruction is taught with a maximum of three clients
with one instructor. We keep our ratios low so that you get personal
attention. If you book in for a group lesson as an individual or a party
of two, we may match you with someone else if it is appropriate.
How do I sign
up for the Glacier Skills Clinic?
Signing up is as easy as calling our reservation and information line
at 603-444-1039. or When you call we will answer any questions you have
about our programs and then take down all the information we need to
sign you up. We take payment at the time of the reservation via a credit
card--though other payment options may be available. To ensure that
you get the day you want, try to give us as much notice as possible--a
couple of weeks is usually sufficient (we may be able to accommodate
you with much less notice so if your schedule opens up and you want
to climb, just give us a call.)
What personal
equipment does Climb On, Inc provide?
We provide all the technical equipment including a harness, helmet,
mountaineering boots, crampons and ice axes.
What hours does
the course run and how is the day structured?
We meet for the course at 7:30 AM and usually finishes up between 3:00
and 4:00 PM. After a few minutes in the morning making sure we have
the proper equipment we will head out to the climbs. We will be busy
climbing all day.
Do I need to
be young and fit to take the Glacier Skills Clinic?
If you are eager to learn, enthusiastic and in reasonably good shape,
we can teach you the skills.
Can children
take the Glacier Skills Clinic?
Children 15 and over may sign up for the Glacier Skills Clinic without
restriction. If you have a child 12-14 years old give us call to see
what would be appropriate. We're sorry, but the Glacier Skills Clinic
is not available for children under 12.
What do I need
to Bring?
Clothing is an important part of our winter programs and being properly
prepared is essential. Some specific items are required to participate,
